Mercy Cuts the Ribbon on 3D Mammography
|
An excited crowd gathered Monday, July 11, 2016 in Mercy Medical Center's Imaging Department to see the goal set by the Mercy Foundation finally come to fruition. Donors to the gala, Heritge Club members, and hospital staff were in attendance to watch Foundation Board Chair, Carla Kelley, and Dr. Mark Wagner cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially opening the 3-D mammography machine to the public. In early 2015, the Foundation Board voted to make this new 3-D mammography technology its main funding priority. Little did they know that just over a year later, they would be walking into a room to see the machine up and running. The support shown from the community to realize this goal was overwhelming. Over $410,000 was raised in support of the mammography machine through the 2015 La Vie en Rose Gala, making it the single most successful gala in Foundation history. Thank you all who have supported bringing this fantastic piece of technology to our medical center. The Foundation continues to strive to achieve its mission of helping Mercy Medical Center deliver high-quality health care to the community of Merced.
